By Leah Sullivan

Though our Michigan winters never seem to take the hint, the local Holland business scene is already preparing for tourists and tulips. With new and colorful inventories, I dug around to find the best decorative pieces for your home this Spring.

1. Watercolor Floral Tulip Tray

Pair it with some decorative candles or adorn it for breakfast-in-bed with the kids, this decorative tray not only serves purpose, but adds a spritz of color to celebrate the season. Find it and other Spring treasures at The Tin Ceiling.

2. Repurposed Spoon Candle Votive

These festive flowers are crafted with old recycled silverware and can be found at Karla’s Place. Brought in from Grand Haven, Michigan, local artists have collaborated to deliver a unique and environmentally friendly piece. “They’re just a great item, we think spring”says Karla’s own Susan Felch.

3. Pinstriped Area Chair

5. Gurgle Pot

Gurgle Pot is certainly not your average pitcher. This conversation piece originates from a small village in France. Pour yourself some iced tea and listen as the whimsy fish “gurgles” with glee. 7. Vintage Bird Tins

“These specific pieces, they’re more on the vintage side,” says Cottage Corner‘s Amy Vanderstoope. Branded with a bird, these tins will have guests chirping. Store all your trinkets and toys in these crafty containers this season.

8. Colorful Clay Potters

This clay plant potter is perfect to add to your home this Spring. Showcase it on the dining room table during brunch, or even mount it on the mantle. And, because it’s handmade by artists in Italy, you can’t find another like it. Go see the people at HōM by Benchmark to see about investing in a beautiful piece like this.
